Rabbi Shnayor Burton recently released his new sefer on Eretz Yisrael called HaAretz Asher Arecha (lit: The Land Which I Will Show You).
In this sefer’s debut, Rabbi Burton writes:
“The product of years of study, lecturing and writing, this 208-page sefer presents my conclusions about the mitzvah to live in Eretz Yisrael. The sefer is not merely a collection of sources and opinions, but an in-depth, original and methodical treatment of this topic that touches on the fundamentals of the Torah and draws on all of Torah literature. Along the way, I discuss the following questions and more:
-
What constitutes a mitzvah?
-
Must we refrain from action as we await Mashiach?
-
Why did a large community remain in Bavel during the period of Bayis Sheni?
-
Are there situations in which a person should choose to live in exile?
-
Why is Eretz Yisrael so central to the Torah?”
The sefer is available for purchase in Judaica stores and online on eBay or Amazon
